A picture of my wife, Barbara McNamara, working in her garden
If someone were to ask me who I respect most in my life it would be my wife, Barbara. She is a person of integrity, energy, style, faith and courage. The mother of seven children and grandmother of about as many, she often walks or bikes several miles to work.
Barbara is a reader of the Bible, of history, and historical romances, with a slight detour into Harry Potter. She is not big on all historical romance however, but a fan of the "Sharps" series, Hornblower, and writings by Diana Gabaldon.
She is the one who takes the lead in setting up our 12x12 tent when we do our pre 1840 primitive camping, and she creates most of our clothing as well. She is an excellent seamstress, with a fine eye for design and color.
An avid gardener, we currently have peach, plum, and cherry trees, and decorative flowers on our double lot. One of her goals is to eliminate mowing, a goal which I greatly encourage her in.
Barbara also is an excellent cook, and has developed recipes that are nutritious, heart healthy, and very good.
I think the one thing that Barb would like would be to travel more, so when I finally win the lottery, I'm going to take some time off my night shift job and squire her around the world.
